Abilitea Place is a place what offers something to everyone.
I’ve been thinking and dreaming about this project for years before my life turned in the right direction to make it real.
People often ask me: how does “Ability” and “Tea” link together to make one project.
By introducing myself, I hope you’ll understand the whole. I am a “conductor” or “Conductive Education practitioner” and I have been supporting many children and their families, as well as young people and adults with different neurological conditions, physical needs. I have a great passion for helping people and do anything I can to improve their life and independent skills.
I’ve studied in Hungary in the Semmelweis University (International Peto Institute) and graduated over 15 years ago as a “conductor”, Conductive Education specialist. I’ve been travelling around the world to help people and learn about their cultures ever since.
Conductive Education is a life-long learning process, teaches practical life-skills, helps for people with physical needs to gain more independence in their life, whatever circumstances they might have. For many years I’ve been teaching and supporting people, their families and carers, what conductive education means and how to implement all those skills they’ve been learning within our sessions, into their real life, family, school, social and workplaces. I always felt something was missing. I wanted to be there and help them through those challenges in their schools, try their new equipment in their homes, encourage when in those difficult social challenges or help to find that work where all adjustments are appropriate enough for them to have achievements and success.
I have two beautiful daughters. When my first daughter was born, everything changed. I needed to slow down and was a stay-at-home mum for a little while. As I am a creative person, I thought to try something new. As a tea lover, I’ve started exploring to mix and match dried fruits and herbs to create some exciting tastes. These natural infusions really gave me a new hobby then.
Abilitea Place has been my dream for years and now it’s the time to make it real.
Abilitea Place is a place where people with physical needs will get access to Conductive Education session individually or in groups, and will create social opportunities in a safe, supportive and fully accessible environment. Abilitea Place is for the whole family. My vision is that Abilitea Place, the Tea shop will be run by young people who don’t have the opportunity to gain work- and life experience due to their physical challenges, therefor they can’t show their potentials. They will be fully encouraged and supported by a professional to learn to do and fulfil their job position and to experience the value of their work.
I want to raise awareness with Abilitea Place of all those with cerebral palsy or other neurological conditions, who are people just like us and they have great potentials, and values.
Abilitea Place will be a fully accessible place to sit in for a tea specialty, try unique tastes of snacks and desserts, as well as access social activities, and Conductive Education sessions for all ages.
With my husband’s and family’s support, I’ll grow this project to offer something really special and unique for the local community.
